These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your download and use of Peace War Game (the "Game"), a free standalone multiplayer application, and your use of peacewargame.com (the "Site"). The Game and Site are operated by Studio Kudo ("Studio Kudo," "we," "us"). By downloading, installing, or playing the Game, or by using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Game or Site.
You must be at least 16 years old to play the Game or hold an account. By playing, you represent that you meet this requirement.
The Game is provided free of charge as a standalone Windows download. We currently do not sell in-game purchases, subscriptions, or advertising within the Game. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and play the Game for your own non-commercial entertainment. You may not redistribute, resell, reverse engineer, or repackage the Game or its assets except as permitted by applicable law.
Signing in uses Unity Gaming Services (UGS), a third-party identity platform operated by Unity Technologies: not an account system we operate ourselves. Your username, password, and authentication tokens are handled by Unity under its own terms and privacy policy. Keep your credentials secure; you're responsible for activity on your account.
Peace War Game is peer-hosted: when you or another player creates a room, that player's own computer runs the game server for that match. Studio Kudo does not operate, monitor, moderate, or have access to the contents of any individually hosted game session. If you host a game, you are responsible for that server instance while it runs on your machine, and for any players you invite into it. If you join someone else's game, you're trusting that host's machine and their choice of settings (including whether AI opponents are enabled) for the duration of that match.
The Game optionally supports AI-controlled opponents powered by Anthropic (Claude) and/or OpenAI (ChatGPT). To use this feature, the hosting player supplies their own API key for the relevant provider. By entering an API key:
Studio Kudo does not collect, store, or have access to your API keys. See the Data Policy for exactly how keys are handled on the host's machine.
Dialogue, negotiation messages, and in-game decisions produced by AI opponents are generated by third-party language models and are not reviewed, curated, or endorsed by Studio Kudo before being shown to players. AI output can be inaccurate, nonsensical, or occasionally in poor taste given the game's subject matter. It does not reflect the views of Studio Kudo.
When playing or hosting, you agree not to: harass or abuse other players in lobby or friend chat; attempt to exploit, cheat, or manipulate the game state or another player's client/server; use the Game to violate any law; or use the AI opponent feature to generate content that violates Anthropic's or OpenAI's usage policies.
Realistic mode seeds the in-game map using published research data (the Global Peace Index and SIPRI arms transfer data; see the Site for sources). This data is used for simulation and entertainment purposes only. Nothing in the Game should be read as factual claims, predictions, or endorsements regarding any real country, conflict, or organization.
The Game and Site are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee the Game will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular host's server will be reachable or reliable, since hosting depends on individual players' own machines and networks.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Studio Kudo is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Game or Site, including but not limited to API usage charges you incur with third-party AI providers, data loss on a host's own machine, or conduct by other players or hosts.
We may discontinue or modify the Game or Site at any time. Because accounts and most game data live with Unity Gaming Services or on individual players' own machines, terminating your access to the Game does not require action on data we hold: we generally don't hold any centrally.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Game or Site after a change means you accept the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
