This Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information when you play Peace War Game or visit peacewargame.com, operated by Studio Kudo. Because the Game is peer-hosted and identity is handled by a third party (Unity Gaming Services), the shape of this policy is a little different from a typical online game: Studio Kudo does not run central account servers or a central game database. For the full technical breakdown of where each piece of data physically lives, see the Data Policy.
Three parties can end up holding data connected to your play:
Studio Kudo itself does not operate a central server that stores player accounts, passwords, or completed-match histories.
We don't operate account infrastructure, so we don't hold a database of players. Your install and gameplay logs stay on your own machine and are not sent to us automatically. The only thing that reaches Studio Kudo directly is normal web server logging generated by our website host when you visit the Site (see Section 5).
Creating an account currently uses Unity's username/password sign-in. (Steam sign-in is planned for an upcoming Steam release and is not yet available.) Unity issues and validates the tokens the game uses to talk to whichever server you're connected to. Your chosen display name is also registered in a small username-uniqueness list (run via Unity Cloud Code) so friends can find you by name.
The in-game friends list, online/lobby presence, and friend-to-friend chat run through Unity's Friends service. Chat messages are held only in memory for the length of your session and are cleared when you quit: Studio Kudo does not log or retain chat content.
peacewargame.com is a static site with no accounts, no forms, and no first-party analytics or tracking cookies of
our own. It does load two third-party resources that will see your IP address as a normal side effect of your browser
requesting them: Google Fonts (typefaces) and, as a progressive visual enhancement, a shader library from the
esm.sh CDN. Neither is used by us to track you.
When a match is played, the hosting player's own computer stores that session's data (player IDs/usernames, round stats, in-game actions) in a local database on their machine only. This is not transmitted to Studio Kudo. If you're not the host, your in-game actions during a match are visible to that match's host machine for the live duration of the game, in the same way they would be visible to any game server you connect to.
If a host enables Claude or ChatGPT opponents, they supply their own API key, which is used only in that host's locally running server process to call Anthropic's or OpenAI's API directly from their machine. Studio Kudo never receives, stores, or has visibility into these keys. When AI opponents are active, the content sent to generate their responses (game state relevant to their turn, negotiation messages) is sent to that provider: see Section 1.
The Game and Site are not directed at children and require players to be 16 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Because your account, profile, friends, and leaderboard data live with Unity rather than with us, requests to access, correct, or delete that data are best handled through your Unity account directly, or by contacting us and we'll assist as best we can given we don't hold that data ourselves. For data stored only on a host's own PC (their local match database, local game logs), that host controls it directly on their machine.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Game evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
